GSPP FOUNDERS

Scott Kerner | CEO

Prior to founding Green Street, Scott worked with Ciena Capital, LLC (formerly known as BLX, LLC, a subsidiary of Allied Capital Corp.), where he was one of the top commercial loan originators for three years straight, funding $13 mm, $26mm, and $64mm in years 2005, 2006, and 2007, respectively. The top A/R factoring salesperson in 2006 and 2007, he was also honored by BLX with Business Development Officer of the Year. In 2008, Scott founded SJK Capital, Inc. ultimately developing a 15-person sales team for an NYC commercial mortgage brokerage firm that completed more than $45mm of commercial loans. Scott eventually joined OnForce Solar where he served as VP of Business Development and closed more than 14 MW of solar projects. Scott was promoted to National Sales Director of Commercial & Utility Scale projects in January 2013, and built out sales teams in seven states. Here at Green Street, Scott oversees the commercial division in its entirety, including business development, new product development, financial partnerships, and all divisional administration. Scott graduated Summa Cum Laude from Wilmington University with a B.S. in business.


Jason Kuflik | President

Jason has more than 15 years of Sales, Accounting, Financial, and Operations experience. From 2004 to 2008, Jason worked with Bernath & Rosenberg advising high net-worth clients in all aspects of cash management and tax planning and also overseeing accounts of more than $100mm. In 2009, Jason began working for a solar development conglomerate managing its due diligence operations, eventually moving into development where he closed over 30 MW of Power Purchase Agreements and developed more than 2,000 acres of land designated for solar farms. Jason joined OnForce Solar in 2010 as VP of Commercial Business Development. During his time at OnForce Solar, he supervised all aspects of commercial operations, including utility applications, vendor management, and capital sourcing. In January 2013, Jason was promoted to Chief Strategy Officer where he, along with Scott Kerner, managed all aspects of the commercial division. Jason also serves on the GJGNY Advisory Counsel for the New York State Energy Research and Development Authority and is a rotating member of the SHC Alliance Council for Solar Energy Industries Association (SEIA). Jason graduated with an accounting and economics degree from Queens College.

Chief Capital Markets Officer

Max Whitacre

Max has extensive technical experience financing renewable energy projects.  Most recently, he co-founded Radiance Structured Finance, a renewable energy finance company that provides long-term project finance loans and then sells or securitizes loan pools to effectuate lower costs of capital. Prior to Radiance, Max was Vice President of Alternative Energy Finance at the National Cooperative Bank. While at NCB, Max was actively involved in all phases of the deal execution lifecycle, managing due diligence and financial modeling for over $275 million of renewable energy loans. He also oversaw the credit approval process for all new renewable energy loan projects, monitored servicing of a $500 million portfolio, and assisted with secondary markets efforts associated with the sale of loans backed by solar projects. Prior to NCB, Max was employed by LaSalle Bank’s leasing division where he completed a formal credit training program. Max holds a B.A. in Economics from John Hopkins University, a M.B.A. from Oxford University and is a CFA Charterholder.

Debi Galler

Debi Galler is General Counsel for Green Street.  Prior to joining Green Street, Debi was Of Counsel at Berger Singerman LLP, and before that McDermott Will & Emery, where she advised clients in commercial real estate, transactional, and financial matters. Debi’s work has led her to become recognized and referenced in articles featured in Law360, Bloomberg News, ABA GP Solo eNews, and the podcast titled “The Resilient Lawyer.” Debi graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Miami Law School, sat on the Miami Law Review, and is also a Member of the Order of the Coif.

Chief Investment Officer

Lisa Raffin

Lisa comes to Green Street with several years of commercial construction management and owner’s representation experience.  Lisa served as VP of Professional Services at Vanderweil Facility Advisors where she consulted with and provided capital planning solutions for commercial property organizations. In 2010, Lisa began her career in solar as VP of Commercial Business at SunBug Solar. At SunBug, Lisa gained experience developing solar projects for manufacturing, non-profits, schools, and universities, and helping to structure project financing, power purchase agreements, and commercial community solar programs, such as Solarize campaigns held in Newburyport, Medford, Cambridge, and Boston. Lisa then went on to become Commercial Regional Sales Manager at SunPower, where she added 30 MW of projects to the northeast. Her comprehensive background empowers her to focus on industry trends, project finance, and solar procurement here at Green Street. Lisa holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University.

Chief Financial Officer

Christine Sheridan

Christine Sheridan leads our renewable energy practice out of our Boston, Massachusetts office. She specializes in providing transaction advisory services to developers, syndicators and investors that qualify for the renewable energy tax credits (RETCs). She has assisted developers in structuring transactions, financial modeling, cost segregations, HLBV analysis and due diligence for solar and wind projects using renewable energy investment tax credits and production tax credits. Christine also has extensive experience consulting on accounting, tax, and regulatory matters, as well as providing traditional audit and tax services in the RETC, Historic Tax Credit, and Low Income Housing Tax Credit industries. Christine is a regular speaker at industry conferences. She earned her Master of Science degree in Taxation (MST) from Northeastern University and is licensed in Massachusetts as a Certified Public Accountant.

Senior Counsel

Aaron Rosenberg

Aaron Rosenberg is an attorney and business affairs professional specializing in corporate and commercial strategy, deal structure, contract drafting, negotiations, and partnerships.  Over the course of his career he has focused on corporate and real estate transactions on behalf of private equity funds, institutional lenders, construction companies and developers. He has also worked with Internet startups and is enthusiastic about the application of innovative technology to the energy, financial, and real estate sectors.

Controller

Andrew McCarthy

Andrew’s motivation to make a lasting impact led him to pursue a career in renewable energy. His previous experiences as Project Accountant at Savills Studley and Assistant Manager of Assets at Pentax Medical has helped him not only hone his strengths in accounting, finance, and operations development, but has also afforded him intimate involvement in multi-million-dollar commercial real estate transactions and the highly regulated medical device industry. At Green Street, he oversees asset management, assists with financial analysis, and is the liaison to our financiers. Andrew completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Delaware where he double-majored in Finance and Accounting.

Director of Construction & Engineering

Tong Xia

Tong Xia has over eight years of experience in the renewable energy industry. Since 2009, Tong has been involved in residential, commercial, industrial and large-scale PV system development, design, engineering, permitting, procurement, construction and O&M. With hands-on experience in PV system construction, Tong has facilitated the implementation of over 50MW of systems. Prior to joining Green Street, Tong served as the Senior Project Engineer at Onyx Renewable Partners. Before Onyx, Tong was the Director of Engineering at OnForce Solar, one of the largest and leading solar EPC firms in New York City at the time. Tong holds NABCEP certified PV installation professional certificate and NABCEP certified PV system inspector certificate. Tong has a B.S. in Civil Engineering in China, and an M.S. in Structural Engineering from the University of New Mexico.

Director of Construction & Project Management

Michael Andrews

Mike joined Green Street’s commercial team as the primary Green Street representative responsible for the direction and completion of commercial and utility-scale solar projects. Having spent 18 years working for a commercial project development and construction, Mike currently supervises activities related to procurement, project bidding, submittals, and construction, and ensures each project is completed in a high-quality, profitable, and safe manner.

Director of Commercial Operations

Samantha Lennon

Samantha joined Green Street from NRG Home Solar, where she oversaw their NYC branch. During her time at NRG, she developed and led a team of 40+ solar professionals, before eventually becoming General Manager of Green Street. As Director of Commercial Operations, Samantha assures efficient, timely, and accurate completion of all commercial projects, while simultaneously maintaining effective communication and project transparency with clientele. Samantha received her BS from the University of Scranton.

Amanda Zurla

Amanda’s relationship with the solar industry started early in her career. Immediately following her graduation from SUNY New Paltz, she began working as a marketing representative for SunPower by Infinity Solar, where she oversaw the customer support department and implemented numerous marketing campaigns to increase brand exposure and lead flow for the residential sales team. Applying her experience in customer relations and lead generation, Amanda joined Green Street as the first member of the commercial division to help advance it. Within her first year alone, Amanda assisted in the development of a commercial pipeline of over 15 MW in direct sales and 70 MW in Community Distributed Generation projects throughout the State of New York, and continues to be a vital asset in the growth of all aspects of the commercial portfolio.

Asset Management & Director of Marketing

Mia Behm

Prior to joining Green Street, Mia worked as the Marketing Manager at a SaaS startup located in Austin, Texas. She spent three years managing their marketing efforts and aided in growing the business $2mm in annual recurring revenue. In 2016, Mia moved to New York City and joined Green Street. She currently oversees all marketing, PR & community solar engagement efforts. Mia also assists in asset management and customer relations. Mia holds a BS in Advertising from the University of Texas at Austin.

Director of Utility Markets

Craig Dwyer

Craig Dwyer founded MainLine Solar LLC in 2009, and grew the Company from a residential EPC to over 25 MW of commercial and utility scale projects successfully commissioned across the northeast. In 2012, Dwyer went on to serve as Director of Business Development for MainLine’s financing partner, Tangent Energy Solutions – a provider of load management services and distributed generation assets to both utility and C&I. Dwyer put over 300 MW of municipal utility load under management across ISO-NE in 2 years, and developed 5 MW of solar PPAs working with Fortune 500 customers. After Tangent, Dwyer went on to serve as Senior Sales Director at Brightergy in 2014 opening the Kansas City based company’s Boston office and growing the C&I solar developer’s northeast office from $0 to $30M in sales in 2 years. Dwyer left in 2016 to found Terawatt to focus on developing small-mid size utility scale solar projects for municipal utility customers and now has over 200 MW in development nationwide.

Matthew Kowalski

Interested in renewables and sustainability from an early age, Matt graduated from SUNY, College of Environmental Science & Forestry with a BS in Sustainable Construction Management Engineering. Following his graduation, Matt worked with the New York State DoT. Soon after, he joined Green Street, where he began in site design. Passionate and motivated, Matt grew to manage the site design team before moving into his current role in Construction & Project Management.

Underwriting DD & Policy Analyst

Marya Friedman

Marya interned with GSPP in the summer of 2016 before her senior year at Wesleyan University, where she majored in Environmental Studies and American Studies, concentrating on law and policy. Upon graduating Phi Beta Kappa in May 2017, she returned to Green Street as an analyst, where she keeps abreast of the rapidly changing policies governing solar at the federal, state, and local level and aids in due diligence. Through her commitment to environmental justice, she endeavors to increase accessibility to clean energy for low- and moderate-income customers.

Commercial Operations Specialist

Sam Julien

Sam majored in Political Science History at The University of Connecticut and received his Master’s Degree in International Relations at Kings College in London. Prior to joining Green Street, Sam worked as a Sales Manager for a residential solar company. Here at Green Street, Sam oversees our commercial pipeline for pre-construction and post construction activity, coordinates with subcontractors on timelines and expectations, manages the interconnection process with the utilities and works with leadership to enact strategy for GSPP’s growing commercial solar business. He also collaborates cross-functionally with Accounting, Underwriting and Legal departments to execute capital markets

Business Development

Mark Croke

On a mission to make the world a cleaner and greener place, Mark comes to Green Street with over six years of business development and sales experience in the northeastern solar industry. A truly committed sales developer, Mark boasts over 40MW of solar in Massachusetts alone. Working with regional corporations, local governments, schools, and other non-profits for a significant period of time has afforded him a unique understanding of their specific needs. Before entering the solar industry, Mark worked in financial services with Mass Mutual and software sales with Wolters Kluwer.

Paralegal

Erika MacKinnon

Before working for Green Street Power Partners, Erika worked in policy with the Florida Senate, including working for the Chair of the Committee on Communications, Energy and Public Utilities. Prior to working in the Florida senate, Erika worked as a Law Enforcement Officer while attending Florida State University. Erika graduated from Florida State University in 2016 with a B.S. degree in Public Administration. At Green Street, Erika works in the Legal department out of our Tallahassee office. She assists the General Counsel with corporate, business, development, and real estate related transactions.

Richard Galler

Richard graduated from Florida International University in 2014 with a BA in Psychology. Upon graduating, Richard began tutoring students of all ages. He then went on to work for the Florida abuse hotline as an Abuse Counselor. Now at Green Street Richard works in the Legal department out of our Tallahassee office. He assists the General Counsel with corporate, business, development, and real estate related transactions.

Stephanie Santana

One of the first five employees to join Green Street, Stephanie has managed everything from office operations, to customer acquisition, to deal qualification, to residential operations. She now serves as GSPP’s Office Manager and does an incredible job creating a great work environment for everyone at Green Street. Stephanie attended Mercy College, where she studied biology and education.

Jordan Chow

Jordan graduated from Washington University in St. Louis in 2018 with a major in Environmental Science and a minor in Finance. After interning at an aviation focused investment bank and Green Street Power Partners, Jordan looked to pursue a career in renewable energy finance and joined the Green Street team shortly after graduation. Jordan helps oversee the operating portfolio’s technical and financial performance.

Aaryn Davis

Before joining GSPP, Aaryn studied Aerospace Engineering at Penn State University. Aaryn began his career at Green Street as an intern, then quickly grew into a full-time position assisting the engineering team. Now Aaryn aids the Project Management team by executing preliminary site designs, and ensuring successful project execution.

Underwriting Analyst

Elizabeth Price

Elizabeth Price has spent a majority of her life overseas, she formally held an internship with the U.S. State Department as a Management Intern at the U.S. Embassy in Kuala, Lumpur. In this position, Elizabeth began a series of cables discussing the palm oil industry in Malaysia and its adverse effects on the environment. Afterwards, Elizabeth decided to join a young, highly-dedicated team that provides solutions towards a more sustainable future through solar energy installations. Currently, Elizabeth is an underwriting analyst at Green Street Power Partners. In this role, Elizabeth oversees incoming projects, reviews legal documents, and coordinates with lenders on project closings. Elizabeth earned a Bachelor’s Degree in International Economics from Washington State University.

Griffin Phaneuf

Griffin attended Wheaton College in Norton, MA where he played for the school’s lacrosse team. He graduated in 2018 as a Business Major with a minor in European History. Upon graduating, Griffin interned for Terawatt Energy where he assisted in developing projects, gaining site control, and executing due diligence. At Green Street, Griffin uses his experience at Terawatt to continue assisting in project development.

Olivia Sproviero

Olivia graduated from Boston University in 2019 with a major in Earth and Environmental Sciences. During her senior year of college, Olivia interned at Terawatt Energy assisting in business development research. Shortly after graduating, Olivia joined Green Street Power Partners where she now aids in due diligence and policy research.
